The "Oldies" genre is an interesting subset of music in terms of classification -- after all, what qualifies as an "oldie" varies with every passing year and decade. Oldies radio stations once played predominantly Fifties and Sixties music, but they have recently begun to play Seventies music, as well. Some oldies acts have become legendary, like Buddy Holly and Otis Redding -- artists like them recorded new music and cover songs that have become classics today.
